Fucking awesome

This is what Newgrounds needs. A wake up call. This shit is orginal, surreal, and funny, and it actually HAS A FREAKIN PLOT! So you win stuff man. Or men. You guys are my heroes. This is the kinda stuff that Ive been wanting to see. Right up my alley. Ok on to the review. From the start, we get a run down of the plot. A central goal of the characters and the rules of the reality are laid down. The old man was great, always whacking people like Cranky Kong. I love the attention to detail. Every character in this, no matter how small, seemed well thought out, had depth, and was funny. Rarely do you see side characters, who stand out so much. The guy in the fields, "Your Grandpa's crazy man." awesome. That's side character thing is perfected in Venture Bros, but you guys do it well too. You guys deserve a following and if you have one already, well I'm joining it. It's good when you watch a cartoon, and you feel like you're in good hands. You guys are taking care of us. When you put all of your love into a work, it shows. And you guys love what you do. The writing was deadpan, sarcastic, over the top, crazyiness and I loved it. The moose was an awesome bad guy. Everything was so random, and yet it fit in with the plot. Unlike Family Guy which is just random with no plot. This felt complete, but the series is no where near done. We haven't even left the village yet. Tornado showdown next episode, looking forward to it. Keep up the good work, you guys earned a high place in my opinion. Guess Im a fan boy now.

Hey thanks, I think out of all the reviews this one made our little hearts beat a little faster. When we came into the flash animation we knew little to nothing about animation, but we've been doing comics and graphic novels our entire life. As we fell into the Newgrounds community we noticed a lot of "penis jokes" and perverted boobs flopping around everywhere, and a few far between original good humor. We made it our goal to stick with our original talent and help shape Newgrounds into a "Television Quality" website. And it took us almost 3 years to get a reward, but as I mentioned earlier we knew nothing about animation. Now our equipment is growing, our office is getting more professional, and we've learned a lot. So, thanks for the support, glad you enjoyed, and oh me oh my are you going to be in for a surprise on Episode 2! Hopefully done within a week or two. We'll see you then! And we love our fanboys!

Cohesion is a good thing.

I think you have a lot of good voices/ideas/vibes in this but is isn't connected well together enough for a plot or even coherent dialogue except the snake monologue at the end which was the best part. Well that and the Sean Connery. I love doing his voice as well. Yesh. It seemed like you thought this up and made it while high. Which sounds good on paper but most of it ends up in smoke. That being said, I think you have a lot of potential for something great one day. Keep it up. Keep being funny. I look forward to your upcoming series. The Garbagemen in NY thing sounds sweet.

Turn down the music

The voice acting was superb great job Tomar. I only wished the music was turned down a bit. The festive sound of it did fit the mood but it was competing with the voices and I had trouble hearing them well. This would have been a lot better if the music was given a break for a second. Just stick to a theme song at the beginning and leave it at that. The humor was great and I loved the absurdity of it all. It felt hectic and crazy the whole time and I loved it. The no face bit and the wikipedia part were great. And the no pooping in urinal sign. Awesome. Can't wait for the next one.

Everybody's a critic

The animation I'd give a 10. The story? Er more like a 3. I have a hard time finding your main character believable. She's too passive. In this plot, things happen to her, and she takes little action. As Aristotle once said, "Character is action." Because she is so passive, she is a forgettable character. I'm guessing you want this to be a character driven story judging by the title. We don't feel for this woman enough. The only hint of emotion we get is from the family picture which is kind of a cop-out. She seemed to be unphased by the END OF THE WORLD stuff going on around her. I'd understand if she was hardened after if happened but during it? She didn't even flinch when she saw a bus full of people crash into a car and explode. Who does that? Sarah Connor? Even Sarah Connor had emotion before the Terminator came. We need to see a progression of character in her. All we know is that she's looking for her family in Los Angeles and most likely they are dead-wait we know that because this whole story is told in flashback. So why do we care about her family when we know they're dead? Also, the peace-loving surfer girl perspective you've chosen is original but it falls short because of her lack of action and emotional response. If anything the characters in this story with the most action and intrigue is the soldiers who save her life. And how do you reward them? You shoot them in the head. This is Fallen Angel girl's only action and we don't see it but assume it comes from them wanting to rape her. I didn't think rape initially but rather the "put me out of my misery" spiel. I think the problem I'm having with this plot in relation to character is that you're using the nukes as a plot device to build tension. It works but when you beat the thing into the ground we miss out on getting to know (Insert Female Lead Here). We don't even know her name. All we know in a nutshell is that the world got blown up and she's alone. We knew this at the very beginning. So why do we want to care about this woman? I believe you spent 4 years on the animation but I don't believe you spent 4 years on this story. It makes me sad because it's one of the best animations I've seen on here but without any memorable characters I'm left to assume she's just another Resident Evil reject. I commend you for actually having a serious plot in your animation which most animators on here stick with the short punchy Family Guy/Robot Chickenesque jokes. But if you're going to stick you're neck out make sure you're prepared for it to get cut off. I loved you're explosions in the sky which looked liked oil pastel paintings. I don't know how you got that look but it's awesome. Also, take everything I say with a grain of salt. I'm just one of the thousands on here who has yet to make a flash and I have nothing to stand on. But don't disregard me, I'm just trying to help you improve your story to match the vision that's in your head.

Learning how to draw, animate, and use flash all at once. Something I've only talked about for 4 years. Finally, Finally I am making the proper steps. Which is lunacy to my ears.
